There are several lovely walks from the door. Canoeing, cycling and horse riding are available nearby.

A delightful & most attractive country house - All rooms are light, bright & fresh, some with stone feature walls, and are all on the GROUND FLOOR (with the exception of the minstrel gallery).

This is the Owners main residence for the remainder of the year and it is therefore fully furnished & fully equipped throughout.

 

Huge FAMILY ROOM (11 x 7m), with minstrel gallery & library open to full roof height. LCD TV with free to air channels (French & English) plus DVDs. Plenty of soft seating in the TV area. WIFI

Approached via a country lane, with no near neighbours. The gardens surrounding the house and pool are landscaped, with adjoining meadow (also belonging to the property).

 

Covered Car Port & parking lot for turning / additional parking space.

There are several external dining terraces within easy reach of the house for dining 'al fresco' , all amidst the tranquillity of the surroundings.

Freshly grown produce available from local markets. Guests are also very welcome to pick the figs, plums, mirabels and soft fruit growing in the garden for their personal use.

Spacieuse et confortable maison ancienne très bien restaurée, entourée d'un très grand jardin mature et bien entretenu.

Aucun vis-à-vis et vues très belles et dégagées sur la campagne environnante (on aperçoit Castelnaud de Montmirail au loin), particulièrement depuis la piscine.
Vous trouverez beaucoup de documentation très bien compilée concernant les très nombreuses activités de cette magnifique région.
Nous y avons passé d'excellentes vacances.

When we arrived at the house we were shown around and found it to be exactly as described. It is a very spacious, well equipped house. It is homely, full of light with tasteful and very comfortable furnishings and a marvellous library. The following morning we explored the extensive grounds, which are beautifully laid out and planted with roses, various shrubs, trees and flowers. it is a paradise for butterflies, bees, birds and various lizards and other wildlife. The large salt-water pool is maintained in immaculate condition and is very privately situated, but still having lovely views of the surrounding farmland. The house stands alone on the side of the small road between Vaour and Itzac villages and is completely private, without any close neighbours. The location is agricultural, so expect to hear and see agricultural vehicles cutting the straw, baling and transporting hay bales in July/August.

Itzac village is delightful, but without amenities, apart from a van which visits once a week with groceries, therefore transport is essential. Vaour has a petrol station/mechanic, bakery, post office and other little shops. The nearest larger supermarkets, restaurants, dentist, doctor, pharmacy are in Cordes which is only 20 minutes drive. This is a must-see beautiful Bastide town. The entire area is stunningly beautiful, with forests, rivers, sunflower fields, vineyards and wine domaines and so many other interesting places to visit, such as St. Antonin, Penne, Bruniquel, Gaillac and Albi. The property is perfectly located between so many interesting places.

We very much enjoyed staying in this property, which enjoys a beautiful garden and stunning views over the neighbouring landscape, particularly from its swimming pool and surrounding terrace. The interior is modern, comfortable and relaxing, with a very large open plan double-height sitting-room/ dining-room

 

 

 

 

Emily H : 5 STAR RATING              Lovely place and a great stay.

 

The house was perfect for us, and just what we expected from the photos and description, even better in fact. The Barn living room/lounge/diner was a fantastic space and the gardens were stunning. I think we just caught the best of the flowers and shrubs (late June), and with the views from the elevated plot the whole setting was gorgeous. We spent a lot of time just relaxing at the house and in the lovely pool! It was all clean and tidy, well equipped and very comfortable for us all. The Tarn region is very beautiful and quite dramatic in it's own way. We did find it quite a journey to go anywhere from the house, even for bread and croissant, so be prepared; and the road to Vaour was challenging but lovely! The Sunday market in St Antonin was great and well worth the visit. There are several other lovely towns also worth a visit (Cordes is fantastic, Albi, Castelnau-de-Montmiral, and don't miss Toulouse). Take a canoe down L'Aveyron river from St Antonin Noble Val - reserve the whole afternoon or even the day - spectacular and quite exciting over the weirs!
